Manager/Supervisor
Position Summary:
This role oversees all aspects of Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (C), and Return Material Authorizations (RMAs), ensuring products and processes meet internal and external requirements. Also included is the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards. This position will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Purchasing to ensure continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

This position will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Purchasing to ensure continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
- Quality Assurance (QA):
- Establish and maintain QA procedures and policies to ensure product and process compliance.
- Develop quality metrics and reporting mechanisms to monitor performance and drive accountability.
- Collaborate with design, procurement, manufacturing, and customer service teams to embed quality assurance into all phases of the product lifecycle.
- Oversee supplier quality initiatives and participate in vendor evaluations and audits.
- Quality Control (QC):
- Manage inspection processes for incoming, in-process, and finished goods.
Collect, interpret, and apply quality performance metrics to detect trends, anticipate issues, and implement preventative actions before production is impacted. - Implement standardized QC protocols, training, and tools to ensure consistent product quality.
- Collaborate with Production and Engineering to resolve non-conformance issues efficiently.

- Continuously evaluate and adjust quality control systems to align with evolving technologies, product introductions, and changing customer or market expectations.
- Develop and manage efficient inspection processes and allocate resources strategically to maximize the effectiveness and value of the quality function.
- Manage inspection processes for incoming, in-process, and finished goods.
- Return Material Authorizations (RMA):
- Oversee the RMA process, including tracking, analysis, and reporting of returned materials.
- Identify root causes and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAs and PAs).
- Use RMA data to drive product and process improvements.
- Quality Management System (QMS):
- Lead the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the ISO 9001-certified QMS.
- Serve as the Management Representative for ISO 9001 audits, including preparation, documentation, and hosting external audits.
- Conduct internal audits and coordinate with functional leaders for timely corrective actions.
- Leadership, Mentoring and Training:
- Maintain a strong understanding of customer expectations and satisfaction drivers, ensuring that quality processes directly support end-user needs and reliability expectations.
- Lead and develop the Quality team; ensure appropriate staffing, training, and development with a focus on maintaining high standards of performance and taking decisive action when quality concerns arise—even when operational delays may result.
- Through impact and influence, promote a quality-focused culture across the organization.
- Clearly articulate quality expectations and findings across departments, from engineering to the production floor, and effectively represent quality metrics and risks to executive leadership.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance product quality and operational efficiency, if appropriate.
- Lead root cause analysis efforts and develop sustainable corrective and preventive actions that resolve recurring quality issues and prevent future nonconformities.
- Partner with other departments to implement improvements based on data, feedback, and quality metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of quality management experience in a manufacturing or technology environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS standards and internal auditing.
- Experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, etc.)
- Demonstrated excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to exercise impact and influence across the company with all levels of staff.
- Proficiency with quality tools and systems (ERP, QMS software, Excel, etc.)
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
- Experience with ERP systems related to quality modules
